De luxe edition, both volumes signed by Chagall, each volume contains an original etching. No. 64 of 100 copies of vol. I, with the etching "L'Apparition" on Japan paper; no. 72 of 120 copies of vol. II, with the etching "Le peintre et son modele" on Japan paper. Both etchings were especially executed for this de luxe edition. This is the definitive catalogue raisonne of Chagall's monotypes (oil on copperplates, mostly in color), numbered 1-308, each one reproduced here. - Mint. - Cramer 65 and 102.

Les 7 photographies illustrant le texte "Chagall a Reims" sont de Izis. 13 dessins autour des vitraux, 9 b/n et 4 en couleurs. Les pages de garde (photo Izis) representant une vue des Monts de Judee prise de la Synagogue de la Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center. Profusely illustrated in color and b&w. It contains 2 original color lithographs specially created by Chagall for this edition. 12 stained glass windows, each with 2 b/w and 5 color illustrations reproducing from the initial drawings to the finished window. 7 b/w photographs by Izis (1 in text, 1 double-page and 5 full page). 9 full page b/w and 4 color drawings about the stained glass windows.
