Rare edition of the annual report on the situation of the Jesuit missions in South Asia and especially the Philippines, written in the form of a letter by Giovanni Ribera (or Juan Rivera; 1565-1622), the Jesuit Provincial at Manilla in the Philippines, and addressed to the Governor General of the Jesuit Order, Claudio Acquaviva in Rome. The yearly written letters are of great importance for the early history of the region. This letter treats the period June 1602 to June 1603, and is dated at Manilla, June 11, 1603. Another edition appeared in the same year in Rome at the printinghouse of Luigi Zannetti.After a general introduction the account treats the state of the Jesuit mission at the Collegio in Manilla, the residences at Zebu, 'de nostri fra Indiani', Dulac, Ogmuc, Bohol, the mission of Tanay at Bohol, Tinagon, Cantubig, Antipolo, and Silang.
